Job Summary
The Assistant Vice President of Financial Aid oversees the financial aid department and operations for multiple campuses and is responsible for the overall administration of all financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with federal Title IV, state, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures. This position serves as a strategic partner and collaborative leader, overseeing financial aid services at Georgia Southern University and Savannah State University.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership, training, and direction to the Financial Aid unit to enhance the productivity and efficiency of processes, procedures, programs, and projects
Coordinate, organize, and supervise the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid programs, including non-need-based scholarships, and ensure adherence to high-level and complex policies and procedures as they relate to professional judgment, SAP, verification, and the awarding of all aid
Stay up-to-date and informed of any changes affecting federal aid rules and regulations and implement modifications accordingly
Collaborate with partners and institutional leadership to develop, administer, and improve annual aid awarding guidelines and services in line with enrollment goals and best practices
Perform long-range planning and budgeting for Financial Aid Office
Administer and maintain financial aid data systems and technology solutions, including the institution's student information system (SIS) and other software that interface with financial aid records, services, and communications
Develop, monitor, and implement department policies and procedures
Prepare annual reports for State and Federal governance (FISAP, FADC, CTP Annual Report, HEERF) and compile statistical data to ascertain all awards meet federal regulations
Oversee the monitoring of student academic progress and continued eligibility for financial aid, as well as make final determinations on students' appeals after multiple attempts
Work directly with auditors and authorities to complete compliance reviews and respond to findings or formal complaints
Foster and maintain a high-quality, service-oriented environment
Enhance services to students and staff through continuous evaluation and improvement of processes and procedures
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
Eight (8) or more years of related work experience
Progressive experience in management

Knowledge of Banner and financial aid technical experience to ensure compliance with federal regulations

Proposed Salary
$115,000 - $135,000
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
